New Delhi, January 16: The Bank unions have called for a two-day nationwide strike on January 31 and February 1 and a three-day strike in the month of March after talks over wage revision failed with the Indian Banks' Association (IBA).The All India Bank Employees Association on Wednesday said that the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), which represents nine trade unions, has decided to observe the strike over the three months demanding early wage  revision settlement.

According to a tweet by ANI, the bank unions would observe a strike on January 31 this month and on February 1 next month. In the month of March, the bank unions would observe strike on three days strike on 11th, 12th and 13th March, 2020. According to reports, the last wage revision meeting was held on January 13. Meanwhile, UFBU state convenor Siddartha Khan told PTI that from April 1, the union has decided to go on an indefinite strike. He added saying that UFBU is seeking at least a 15-per cent hike, but the IBA has capped the raise at 12.25 per cent.
