Mumbai, September 8: The Mumbai police recently arrested a man from Bangladesh for allegedly flashing at an air hostess and masturbating on a flight to the city. The shocking incident occurred during the Muscat-Mumbai flight on Thursday, September 7. The accused has been identified as Mohammad Dulal (30). Police officials said the accused committed the act 30 minutes before the Vistara flight's scheduled landing at Mumbai airport.
According to a report in the Times of India, Dulal was supposed to board a connecting flight to Dhaka from Mumbai. After being arrested, he was handed over to Sahar police. This is the 12th case of unruly passenger behaviour in Mumbai this year. After his arrest, the accused was before the Andheri Court on Thursday. The lawyer also said that Dulal could not understand English and Hindi. Speaking about the incident, an officer from Sahar police station said, "Dulal was arrested based on the complaint from the 22-year-old flight attendant for hugging her and trying to kiss her onboard. He even flashed at a flight supervisor and other onboard passengers when they intervened."
The officer also said that Dulal did not listen to the captain, who read out a Red Warning Card and declared him an unruly passenger. In her complaint, the 22-year-old flight attendant said that the accused signalled her when she was collecting food plate trays from other passengers. The woman also said that the accused hugged her and forcibly tried to kiss her. She then called her colleague for help, who tried to free her. The police remand application stated that the accused flashed at the attendant and then "shook his organ" in front of her and other passengers.
After the incident, the police informed the Bangladesh consulate who said that they would make arrangements for his bail and other case-related procedures. Meanwhile, the accused's lawyer said that his client was falsely implicated. Tripathi also said that Dulal's lack of knowledge led to an argument with the complainant.
