New Delhi, February 28: The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Thursday said that decision to show evidence regarding the air strikes on Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) camp in Pakistan’s Balakot is to be taken by the government. During a joint press briefing of three service wings in New Delhi, Air Vice Marshal Ravi Kapoor said, “We have evidence to show that whatever we wanted to do and targets we wanted to destroy, we have done that. The IAF officer while answering the question regarding the casualties inflicted on JeM during February 26 air strikes, said that it is "premature" to say what the number casualties are. He further added, "the IAF got the result, whatever it intended to destroy". In the joint press briefing the evidence was shown to the media proving that Pakistan used F-16 fighter jet to violate the Indian air space on February 27. The IAF showed a cover of AMRAAM missile fired from Pakistani F-16 aircraft which was shot down by IAF's Mig 21 Bison fighter jet. The cover of the missile was found near the Line of Control (LoC) in India. However, Pakistan on Wednesday had already denied that they used F-16 jet to violate the Indian air space.

Air Vice Marshal Kapoor also said, “There is enough evidence to show that F-16s were used in this mission through their electronic signatures. Parts of AMRAAM, air to air missile which is carried only on the Pakistani F-16s was recovered east of Rajouri within the Indian Territory.” The IAF officer also said that one Pakistani F-16 was shot down by an IAF MiG 21 Bison Aircraft. Air Vice Marshal Kapoor also expressed happiness on the decision of Pakistan government to release IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman who was captured by Pakistan after his aircraft got crashed which intercepting PAF’s F-16 jet.
