Lucknow, August 22: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has warned Muslims in the state against taking selfies with goats on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha (Bakra Eid) on Wednesday. Adityanath has said that strict action will be taken against those who don't follow the directive. Adityanath has also banned the slaughtering of goats in the open on the occasion of Eid.

Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with officials earlier this week and ordered them to ensure sacrifice of animals was not made in the open. Yogi Adityanath also said that blood and garbage is not dumped in open drains, so that religious sentiment of other communities is not hurt.

Yogi Adityanath reviewed preparations ahead of Bakra Eid on Saturday evening and directed officials to maintain law and order across the state. He asked them to ensure essential services like power and water supply are kept.

He also stressed that no protected animal is sacrificed on Eid-ul-Adha.

To avert any untoward incident, the chief minister asked officials to remain on alert in districts where Kanwar Yatra is in progress. Bakra Eid will be celebrated on August 22 across the country.
