Badaun, August 23: A minor girl who had alleged gang-rape by three men in a primary school in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun district on August 21 has committed suicide. According to a report published in CNN News18, the 14-year-old girl committed suicide after the medical report did not confirm rape. However, the girl in her complaint mentioned that she was taken to a nearby government-run school and gang-raped. Later, the victim was found unconscious in the school.

The police registered an FIR based on the victim’s complaint and arrested the main accused. According to the police, their investigation revealed that the girl had spoken to the arrested accused 122 times. The victim was found hanging from the ceiling of her home on Wednesday night. The police have sent her body for post-mortem. According to the report, a forensic team was also sent to the school where the girl was allegedly raped.

Badaun SSP Ashok Kumar told media, “Rape complaint was filed on August 21. The medical examination was done. The investigation was underway. Today, we got the info that the girl is dead. Postmortem reports awaited.” However, the girl's brother has accused the police of shielding the culprits. The family claimed that she was abducted at gunpoint on Monday night when she had stepped out of the house to relieve herself in the open. The incident came to light when the girl told her family about the incident.
