New Delhi, August 11: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lawmaker and princess of Jaipur's erstwhile Royal Family, Diya Kumari, made a startling claim on Sunday, saying that her predecessors have descended from Lord Ram's son Kush. The claim, she says, is validated through documents and manuscripts preserved by her family.

Kumari's response comes in the aftermath of the Supreme Court asking the counsel of 'Ram Lalla Virajman' whether any descendents of Lord Ram could be traced to this age. Kumar, who represents the Rajsamand constituency in Lok Sabha, said it was necessitated for her to respond. Supreme Court to Hold Day-to-Day Hearings in Ayodhya Case

"I'm saying this on basis of manuscripts & documents we have. I said this after SC (during Ayodhya case) asked if there are any descendants of Lord Ram," the BJP leader said.

As per the documents shown to the media by Kumari, the names of all descendents of Lord Ram were part of the written record. The manuscript shows Sawai Jai Singh's as the 209th ruler and Maharaja Bhawani Singh's (Diya's father) as 307th ruler.

According to Jaipur City Palace Museum records, the Kachhwaha dynasty -- whose member is Kumari -- is also referred to as Kuchhwaha dynasty, named after Lord Ram's son Kush.
