New Delhi, December 11: All eyes will be on the results of assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh (MP), Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram today, that would set the tone for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Search engine giant Google will also show the results of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram assembly elections 2018. Stakes are high for the BJP which currently rules Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. Congress and TRS lead the incumbent governments in Mizoram and Telangana respectively.

To know the elections results of one of the five states that went to polls between November 12 and December 7, you can type, for example, MP elections results or Telangana assembly results. While Chhattisgarh went to polls in two phases on November 12 and 20, Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram had assembly elections on November 28. Polling was held on December 7 in Rajasthan and Telangana. In Madhya Pradesh, the BJP is seeking for a fourth consecutive term, while the Congress is trying hard to return to power after 15 years. In Rajasthan, the main contest is between the BJP, which is fighting anti-incumbency to retain power, and the Congress, which left no stone unturned to make a comeback in the state. Notably, Rajasthan has not voted the same party to power for more than one term in the last 20 years. In the 119-member Telangana assembly, the ruling TRS is facing a challenge from the Congress-led People's Front, which also includes Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Communist Party of India and Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS), and the BJP.

Mizoram saw a multi-cornered contest between the ruling Congress, main opposition MNF and the BJP, along with three regional parties ZPM, NPP and PRISM. A majority of exit polls predicted a landslide victory for Congress in Rajasthan and gave the grand old party an edge over the BJP in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Surveys by media organisations and agencies predicted a TRS victory in Telangana.
