Guwahati, September 23: In a shocking incident, the helicopter of Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal made an emergency landing at Lilabari Airport in Lakhimpur on Monday. Reports from various sources claim that the landing was made due to bad weather. The CM is safe as per the agency inputs.

Though no casualty has been reported, the administration is keeping an eye on the incident and have reportedly advised CM Sonowal not to take the aerial route until the situation becomes normal in the region. Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing in Kedarnath Due to Technical Snag.

Earlier on Monday, six pilgrims on board a private helicopter had a narrow escape when the tail end of the chopper hit an object while making an emergency landing at Kedarnath helipad soon after take-off. This is not the first time that a helicopter had made an emergency landing. Earlier during the Lok Sabha campaigning too, then Congress president Rahul Gandhi's chopper faced similar circumstances and had to deboard after an emergency landing.
