Dhubri, April 27: Five people were killed and many others were critically injured after a bus carrying a wedding party met with an accident on National Highway 31 in Assam's Dhubri district on Saturday, reported news agency ANI. The bus collided with a truck. According to reports, the bus carrying a wedding party in the wee hours of Saturday morning lost its control and rammed against a stationary truck. The deadly road accident took place at Gauripur in Dhubri district. Seventeen people were travelling in the vehicle. Accidents are one of the major cause of deaths in India. According to 'Road Crash Statistics 2016', 17 people in India die every hour in roads accident. 29 children die every day on roads. Over 13 lakh people have been killed in crashes over the past decade. The highest number of fatalities are reported from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
