Dispur, December 3: In a joint operation conducted by Indian Army, Assam Rifles and Jairampur police resulted into an arrest of nine terrorists of National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Songbijit) [NDFB (S)] on Sunday night while they were infiltrating into India from their training camp in Myanmar. Security forces have also recovered arms and ammunition from those apprehended. Two National Democratic Front of Bodoland Militants Thrashed by Public.
The nine weapons were recovered from terrorists includes AK -47 and AK- 56 assault rifles, pistols and assorted ammunition. According to sources, the security forces were working on intelligence inputs from the last two months regarding the possible infiltration of NDFB (S) personnel from their training camps in Myanmar to the Indian side for carrying out subversive activities.

Earlier in September, two NDFB(S) militants were awarded death sentence while two were awarded life imprisonment by National Investigation Agency (NIA). The capital punishment was awarded to them for killing six persons four years ago in Sonitpur district of Assam.
