New Delhi, October 18: Ashish Pandey, who whipped out a pistol during a scuffle with a man at a luxury hotel in Delhi, has surrendered in a Delhi court on Thursday, a day after the Patiala House Court issued a non-bailable warrant against him. He was later arrested by the police, and sent to one-day police remand by the court. In a video message, Ashish Pandey, who is the son of a former BSP MP Rakesh Pandey, alleged he was being framed and subjected to the media trial.

"I am a son of a politician and it is not a crime....There is no criminal or civil case against me for any wrongdoings....Only one angle of the incident is being highlighted...I didn't train my gun at the person," Ashish Pandey said in the video message. He was at unknown location since he brandished his gun in outside a hotel in the national capital last Sunday. Non-Bailable Warrant Issued Against Ashish Pandey For Brandishing Gun.

In a video, Ashish Pandey and his friends were heard abusing the man who used the ladies' washroom at the porch of the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Pandey then pulls out his gun and threatens the couple. The video of the incident went viral on social media resulting in a massive public outrage prompting the police to step in and launch a hunt for the accused.

"I'm being projected like I'm a wanted terrorist... If you check CCTV footage, you'll find who went to ladies toilet that night and who threatened whom," Pandey said in the video. I took the gun with me for safety. I didn't brandish it. It was hanging behind me all the time. I didn't even address that girl... I have faith in judiciary, so I decided to surrender," he added.

Gaurav Kanwar, ex-Congress MLA’s son, who was threatened by Pandey said the accused pulled out his gun and shouted, “I will kill you” which “scared” him to the extent that he did not approach the police, he said in a statement on Wednesday. Pandey has been booked for brandishing a gun and threatening people. A ‘look out circular’ was also issued against him.
