Bhopal, October 3: An ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) worker on Wednesday fell off a wireless tower at Polytechnic Chauraha in Bhopal. The incident took place during a protest by ASHA workers for a hike in their minimum pay. The worker received injuries in the incident and was taken to Gandhi Medical College for treatment.
The ASHA worker climed on the wireless tower in protest for an increase in minimum pay. While some police personnel were trying to bring her down, she tumbled from the tower. A man also fell along with her. The video of the incident is being shared on social media. ASHA/USHA workers have been protesting in Bhopal against low minimum wage.

On Tuesday, hundreds of ASHA/USHA workers tried to gherao Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's residence. Although the authorities stopped the health workers, they held an hour-long demonstration at Polytechnic Square. Some of the protesting workers fainted due to scorching heat.
