Udham Singh Nagar, March 26: A case has been registered against nearly 100 people including Uttarakhand Education Minister Arvind Pandey on Tuesday for allegedly abusing and misbehaving with police chowki in-charge Arjun Giri in Kundeshwari of Udham Singh Nagar in Kumaon region. According to reports, Pandey misbehaved with a police officer after he seized vehicles involved in illegal sand mining and overloading case. The state education minister along with his supporters also had a scuffle with policemen. After the video went viral, Indian National Congress state secretary Lalit Joshi said that the party will file a formal complaint against Pandey with the poll panel. Udham Singh Nagar ASP Jagdish Chandra said that the police will take “appropriate action”.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party accused the grand old party of “making a mountain out of a molehill” although party spokesperson Bindesh Gupta accepted that the minister should have been “more cautious”. Giri was not available for comments.
