Arvind Kejriwal Promises to Install CCTV Cameras in Delhi Government Schools by November
The Delhi government launched a project for CCTV camera installation in all government school in the city, stating this new initiative will help improve results of Delhi government schools next year.
New Delhi, July 7: The Delhi government on Saturday launched a project for CCTV camera installation in all government school in the city. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had called this 'historic milestone' towards revamping the educational system of the national capital.
The Union territory government - led by Aam Aadmi Party convenor - launched the project at Shaheed Hemu Kalani Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya in Lajpat Nagar. Kejriwal and stated that over 1,000 Delhi government schools will be equipped with CCTV cameras by November this year. Informing more, Kejriwal said, as reported by PTI, "It's a historic milestone in school education in the country and the world as a live feed from classrooms will be provided to parents on their mobile phones through an app." The Delhi CM even opined that this new initiative will help improve the results of Delhi government schools next year.
On the issue of the privacy breach, Kejriwal stated, as the news agency quotes, "There will be no privacy breach, children go to school for education, to learn discipline and become good citizens of the country ... they do not go there for anything private."
Kejriwal assured the parents that through the DGS app - downloaded from Google Play Store - they will be able to get a live feed of the CCTV cameras and the government can access live classroom feed after proper verification.
