Arvind Kejriwal Attacked in Delhi's Narela, Escapes Unhurt; AAP Blames BJP
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) blamed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the alleged attack on Kejriwal.
New Delhi, February 8: Unidentified men attacked the car of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi's Narela area, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said on Friday. Arvind Kejriwal escaped unhurt in the attack. The alleged attack on Kejriwal took place when he had gone to inaugurate development works in 25 unauthorised colonies in Narela.
Kejriwal's car was allegedly attacked by a mob armed with sticks in Narela, an official in the Chief Minister's Office told news agency PTI. A group of about 100 men tried to stop Kejriwal's car and attacked it with sticks. The AAP blamed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the alleged attack on Kejriwal. The identities of the attackers were not known immediately.
"Arvind Kejriwal's car attacked by BJP goons in Narela area when he had gone to inaugurate development works in unauthorised colonies of Narela," Ankit Lal, AAP's social media strategist, said.
In November last year, a man threw chilli power at Arvind Kejriwal inside the Delhi Secretariat. Following the attack on Kejriwal, AAP legislators had urged Kejriwal to remove Delhi Police from the list of beneficiaries of the Delhi government's compensation scheme.
