Arunima Sinha Becomes World’s First Woman Amputee to Scale Antarctica’s Mount Vision; PM Modi Congratulates the Athlete

It is a proud moment for all the women across the world. Dr Arunima Sinha, the Indian amputee athlete, has once again made it to the headlines for her achievements. After becoming the world’s first woman to climb Mount Everest in 2013, the Padma Shri awardee is now the first female amputee to climb the highest peak of Antarctica. Her feat is celebrated by the young nationals especially those who are chasing similar dreams. On January 3, she tweeted sharing her success, and wishes have been pouring all over since then. According to media reports, Sinha is a national-level volleyball player who had one of her legs amputated in 2011 after she was pushed from a running train by dacoits. Tweeting about her success, Sinha wrote, “The wait is over we are glad to share with you The World record World’s 1st woman amputee who climbed Mount Vinson (highest peak of Antarctica) has become to the name of our country India. Sinha's Tweet Sharing Her New Feat:

In earlier reports, she planned to scale six peaks in six continents. Sinha is also a Tenzing Norgay awardee. Sinha had earlier climbed five mountains that includes Mt Everest, Mt Kilimanjaro, Mt Elbrus, Mt Kosciuszko and Mt Aconcagua. Her willpower deserves all the praises.
