It is a proud moment for all the women across the world. Dr Arunima Sinha, the Indian amputee athlete, has once again made it to the headlines for her achievements. After becoming the world’s first woman to climb Mount Everest in 2013, the Padma Shri awardee is now the first female amputee to climb the highest peak of Antarctica. Her feat is celebrated by the young nationals especially those who are chasing similar dreams. On January 3, she tweeted sharing her success, and wishes have been pouring all over since then. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also extended his heartiest greetings to her for scaling new heights, literally. According to media reports, Sinha is a national-level volleyball player who had one of her legs amputated in 2011 after she was pushed from a running train by dacoits. In earlier reports, she planned to scale six peaks in six continents. Sinha is also a Tenzing Norgay awardee. Sinha had earlier climbed five mountains that includes Mt Everest, Mt Kilimanjaro, Mt Elbrus, Mt Kosciuszko and Mt Aconcagua. Her willpower deserves all the praises.
