New Delhi, September 26: With 52 days of lockdown and restrictions imposed on Jammu and Kashmir by the Union government, former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti's daughter Iltija Mufti on Thursday appealed the United Nations and international communities to intervene and help them to get out of the 'economic, humanitarian, psychological and health crisis'.
Taking to Twitter, junior Mufti -- who is currently managing Mehbooba Mufti social media handle -- stated that Kashmir is in dire need of international communities attention. She said through a video message that local media and press in Kashmir have been subjected to savage censorship to ensure the Narendra Modi governments false narrative isn't exposed. Iltija Mufti, Daughter of Mehobooba Mufti, Says 'Not Every Kashmiri Potential Stone-Pelter or Terrorist'.

In the video message, she stated the problems faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir, and how their voices are being 'oppressed' amid communication ban. Appealing the global leaders to unite and speak in unison for the human right of Kashmiri people, she said,, "It is important that the world leaders of today look beyond the trappings of trade and strategy. It is time they came together to fight for the ideals they hold close to their hearts. Otherwise, our young will lose their faith in the greater goodness of mankind."
Adding on, she said, "There would be no voice of reason and guns and stones will replace dialogue. As this year UNGA convenes, I request all world leaders to speak up for nine million people whose voices have been gagged. Kashmir needs you. Speak up and stand with Kashmir." It is to be known that over 4,000 political leaders have been kept under house arrest and all telecommunications services were suspended post abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir on August 5.
