An Army jawan allegedly shot his two colleagues dead before committing suicide at Dharamshala Military Station in Himachal Pradesh.
Dharamshala, Sep 17: An Army jawan allegedly shot his two colleagues dead before committing suicide at Dharamshala Military Station in Himachal Pradesh in the wee hours on Monday. The incident took place at around 2:15 am. The accused soldier was associated with the 18 Sikh Regiment of the Army. The motive behind the killings and suicide was not immediately known.
Sepoy Jasvir Singh shot Havaldar Hardeep Singh and Naik Harpal Singh dead with his INSAS Rifle before shooting self, initial reports suggested. Jasvir Singh had joined the Army 6 months ago, while Hardeep Singh and Harpal Singh had completed 23 and 18 years of service. “Circumstances in which Jasveer took the drastic step are yet to be ascertained,” a police officer told Hindustan Times.
Kanga police and officials from the Army have reached Dharamshala Military Station to investigate the matter. The bodies of the deceased Army personnel will be sent for a postmortem. Further details were awaited.
