Lucknow, October 2: Vivek Tiwari, the Apple employee who was shot dead by a policeman in the Gomti Nagar in September died due to a gunshot on the left side of the chin, the post-mortem report revealed on Tuesday. The 38-year old executive, who was shot dead by one of the constables Prashant Chowdhary, was cremated in Bhaisakund on September 30 in presence of Uttar Pradesh ministers and his family members. Reports quoted Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Lucknow Kalanidhi Naithani saying that constable Prashant Chowdhary has been booked for murder after Khan filed an FIR. Chaudhary, the constable who shot at Tiwari had said that after noticing some "suspicious activity", he asked the victim to come out of the SUV but he did not and instead tried to hit him and he had to open fire in self-defence. An investigation has been launched by the Uttar Pradesh Police against the accused under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The tragic incident took place on September 29 when Tiwari was returning home, when he was allegedly shot by a police constable for refusing to stop his vehicle. However, the cop who has been accused of shooting Tiwari claimed that he fired in self-defence, as Tiwari tried to run his car over him. On Monday, Vivek's family members met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and said that they "have faith" in the state government. Kalpana Tiwari, the wife of Vivek Tiwari said she has faith in the state government. "I have said earlier that I have faith in the state government. This faith has been strengthened after meeting the CM. I have lost the capacity to take a stand after the unfortunate incident, which should not have happened. It has shaken me. After meeting the CM, I have gained confidence that I will be able to fulfil the responsibilities my husband left on me," she added.
Kalpana demanded strict action against the guilty, a job, accommodation, expenses for education of my daughters and my mother-in-law. She informed that the Chief Minister has acceded to all her demands.
