Lucknow, December 26: A total of 327 FIRs have been registered across Uttar Pradesh in connection with the violence during anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protests. In addition to this, at least 1,113 people were arrested and 5,558 people were taken into preventive custody. According to UP police, in the protests, 19 people lost their lives, and 288 police personnel sustained injuries. However, some media reports claimed that a total of 21 people were killed in the protests. The state police also arrested 124 people for posting inciting content on social media.
