Mumbai, September 1: India's premier English business channel -- Business Television of India (BTVI) -- has announced to go off-air from midnight August 31. The channel has informed that it would be suspending all its transformation on broadcast platforms and would make further announcements in the times to come. The Anil Ambani owned Business Broadcast News informed that they would communicate the future steps towards ensuring a smooth transition of their operations. Viewership data published by BARC for the week 17 August to 23 August reveals that BTVI was in the third position with 66,000 weekly impressions. It was ahead of NDTV Profit, but was behind CNBV TV 18 and ET Now.

Launched in as UTVi in 2008 by UTV, it was rebranded as Bloomberg UTV in 2009. But in 2012, Anil Ambani owned Business Broadcast News purchased the stake of UTV in the channel, causing it to rename as Bloomberg TV India. Later in 2016, Business Broadcast News and Bloomberg split, and he channel was again rebranded as BTVI Live.
