Vijayawada, November 7: Fear gripped several district officers in the southern states after a revenue official in Telangana was burnt to death in her office complex earlier this week. Barely three days after a woman tehsildar in Abdullapurmet MRO office in Telangana was set on fire, a tehsildar in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool tied a rope in her office as a barricade between her and the visitors. Reports inform that she later clarified that she tied the rope only out of fear and had removed it after an hour.

According to a report by ANI, several drunk men allegedly visited Uma Maheshwari at her office in Kurnool’s Pattikonda Mandal. The report states that she got scared and tied a rope, which created a barricade between her chair and the visitors’. "Yesterday some people came to my office without any application, they were drunk. Seeing them in such condition scared me. So, I tied a rope creating a barricade between my chair and the visitors,” ANI quoted Maheshwari as saying.

On November 7, a woman identified as Vijaya Reddy, a tehsildar in Abdullapurmet MRO office in Ranga Reddy district of Telangana died after being allegedly set ablaze on fire in her office. Reports inform that Suresh allegedly doused Reddy with kerosene, set her ablaze and then later set himself ablaze in the same manner. Reddy succumbed to her burn injuries, while Suresh survived and was rushed to the local hospital for treatment.
