Andhra Pradesh Shocker: Minor Girl Gives Birth During School Hours in Bathroom, Newborn Dies; Girl in Critical Condition

In a distressing event in Andhra Pradesh, a 16-year-old minor girl gave birth during school hours in a bathroom on Wednedsay, July 31. The newborn tragically died, and the girl is in critical condition at the hospital.

Amaravati, August 31: In a tragic incident on Wednesday, July 31, a 16-year-old minor girl from Kothapatanam, Andhra Pradesh, reportedly gave birth during school hours in her school bathroom. The girl was discovered in critical condition and has been admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ongole, where she is receiving treatment. However, the newborn, unfortunately, died shortly after birth.

The minor girl is a student of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in Kothapatanam and lives in Cheemakurthi Mandal. On Wednesday, when the girl experienced labour pain, she rushed to the washroom. She did not inform anyone about her pain. She then delivered a baby during school hours. The student was urgently transported to the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ongole, where she is now receiving medical treatment. Tragically, the newborn died shortly after birth. The girl’s condition remains critical as she continues to receive care and support at the hospital.

In a similar incident at Bhind District Hospital, a minor girl gave birth in the restroom of the women’s ward and attempted to abandon the newborn in a bucket. The hospital staff intervened, apprehended the girl, and reunited her with the baby.
