Chhittor, August 6: In a shocking incident, a man from Andhra Pradesh allegedly drowned his three children in a river after a quarrel with his wife in Chittoor district on Sunday night. According to a report published in Hindustan Times, bodies of five-year-old Puneeth, three-year-old Sanjay and two-year-old Rahul were found floating in the Neeva river at Diguva Masa Palli on Monday. Police sent the bodies to a local hospital for post-mortem.
Venkateshwarlu, a truck driver from Bala Ganganapalle village used to fight with his wife Amaravathi frequently after getting drunk. After a fight on Sunday morning, she left for her parents’ place at Diguva Masa Palli along with the three children. According to the report, in the evening the accused went to his in-laws’ residence and insisted that Amaravathi return home with the children.
After Amaravathi refused to go with him, he forcibly took the three boys with him. While on his way to home, in a drunken state he pushed the children off a bridge on the Neeva River. After reaching the home, he called his wife informing her about the incident. Amaravathi’s parents immediately called the police.
A murder case has been registered against the accused at the Gangadhara Nellore police station. The police have also launched a manhunt operation to arrest Venkateshwarlu.
