In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old girl was allegedly set on fire by a stalker for snubbing him on the road in Hanamkonda town of Telangana’s Warangal district.
Hyderabad, February 27: In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old girl was allegedly set on fire by a stalker for turning down his proposal on the road in Hanamkonda town of Telangana’s Warangal district. The girl is a final year student of Vaagdevi Degree and PG College. The accused has been identified as Pendyala Sai Anvesh, and he is 21-years-old. According to a report published in Hindustan Times, the victim, Ravali was about to enter the college at around 10 am, when the accused approached her on a motorcycle, and poured petrol on her before setting her on fire.
She is a resident of Ramachandrapuram village of Sangem block, is a classmate of Anvesh, who hails from Chennaram village of Wardhannapet block. The victim was engulfed in flamed completely before she could be saved. The passersby caught the accused and handed him to the police. According to the report, her condition is stated to be critical. As the girl had suffered 90-degree burns, the doctors advised that she should be shifted to another hospital. In a similar incident in December last year, a 15-year-old school girl received burn injuries after she was set ablaze allegedly by two unidentified motorcycle-borne men near the city, police said Wednesday.
