AN-32 Aircraft Located: Rescue Operation by Helicopters Will Commence Tomorrow Early Morning, Says IAF
With the IAF finally locating the missing AN 32 aircraft in the dense forest of Arunachal Pradesh after nine days, the elite force informed that the rescue operation by helicopters will commence tomorrow early morning.
New Delhi/Itanagar, June 11: With the Indian Air Force finally locating the missing AN 32 aircraft in the dense forest of Arunachal Pradesh after nine days, the elite force informed that the rescue operation by helicopters will commence tomorrow early morning. However, it informed that the ground forces will continue to reach the crash site during the night.
In the series of tweets, the IAF informed that after identification of wreckage of AN-32 by Mi-17V5 helicopters, Cheetah of IAF and Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) of Indian Army reached the crash site, but due to the high elevation and dense forest, helicopters could not land next to the crash site. Earlier, the images of the wreckage of missing AN-32 transport aircraft was circulated by the IAF on social media and with this, the speculation of the flight gone missing came to an end. The parts of the ill-fated military plane have been recovered from north of Lipo region in Arunachal Pradesh.
It is to be known that the wreckage of AN-32 aircraft was located nearly 16 kilometres to the north of Lipo region by the MI-17 chopper, which is covered with by dense forest. IAF issued and statement and said, "The wreckage of the missing AN-32 was spotted today 16 Kms North of Lipo, North East of Tato at an approximate elevation of 12,000 feet by the IAF Mi-17 Helicopter undertaking search in the expanded search zone."

The AN-32 aircraft had gone missing on June 3, shortly after taking off from Jorhat at around 12:27 pm, and was scheduled to reach Mechuka at 1:30 pm. However, it went off radar nearly 33 minutes after the take-off. A total of 13 people were on board the plane, which is used by the IAF for transportation purpose. All of them are feared to be killed in the accident.
