Amritsar, October 22: In the latest development related to Amritsar train accident, Saurabh Madan Mithu, son of local Congress councillor Vijay Madan, who organised Dussehra event in Dhobi Ghat ground near Joda Phatak on Friday has released a video in which he claimed that the permission was taken for holding the event. Mithu also claimed that announcements were made at least 10 times requesting people not to stand on the railway tracks.

Mithu, who is a close aide of Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu said that some miscreants due to personal rivalry were blaming him for the train accident which claimed at least 61 lives. In the video, Mithu also said that he was pained by the incident and claimed innocence. The CCTV footage in his neighbourhood captured the visuals showing him fleeing from his house in a white SUV. The video of Mithu surfaced, after the police launched a manhunt operation to nab Mithu and his father. Both were summoned for questioning on Saturday. However, the summons remained unanswered.  Mithu's mother, a local Congress Councillor, is also missing after the fatal accident. Angry youths of Dhobi Ghat pelted stones at Mithu's residence.
