Amritsar Train Accident: Check List of Trains Cancelled Due to the Fatal Rail Mishap

The trains which have been cancelled are mostly on the Mehsana-Palanpur-Abu Road line, administered by the North-West Railway.

Amritsar, October 19: At least six major trains have been cancelled by the Indian Railways due to the fatal rail mishap in Amritsar, which has claimed 60 lives. The list of trains which would not be plying have been released in the press note issued by the Railways shortly after the accident.

The trains which have been cancelled are mostly on the Mehsana-Palanpur-Abu Road line, administered by the North-West Railway. The passengers, facing inconvenience, would be allowed to travel on their existing tickets on a future date. Check List of Trains Cancelled Due to the Fatal Rail Mishap:

  • Ahmedabad-Ajmer Express, Train number 19411, would not be plying on October 20 and 21.
  • Ajmer-Ahmedabad Express, Train number 19412, would also not be plying on October 20 and 21.
  • Mehsana-Abu Road Express, Train number 79437, would not be commuting October 19 and 20.
  • Abu Road Mehsana Express, Train number 79438, would not be running on October 20 and 21.

Meanwhile, the Jodhpur-Ahmedabad Express (train number 54803), would be re-routed on October 19 and 20. The train would not be running between Ahmedabad and Abu Road stations. The same diversion has been applied on Ahmedabad-Jaipur Express (train number 54805).

Union MoS, Railways, Manoj Sinha, along with Railway Board chairman Ashwani Lohani and Northern Railway general manager Vishwesh Chaube are expected to reach the site of accident in Amritsar by tonight. The top officials would be taking stock of the situation and monitor the relief and rescue operations. The central government has announced a compensation of Rs 2.5 lakh for the deceased, whereas, the Punjab government has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh.
