Srinagar, June 27: Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday visited the residence of Arshad Khan, Jammu and Kashmir police officer, who lost his life in Anantnag terror attack on June 12. Khan is survived by two sons, one-year-old Daamin and four-year-old Uhbaan, wife, parents and a brother. Shah visited the family at their residence in Bal Garden in Karan Nagar. Khan was critically injured in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag on June 12. He was then airlifted to Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences for treatment. Later he succumbed to his injuries. He was given a teary-eyed farewell.

Photos of his wreath laying ceremony of the martyr went viral on social media. In the pictures Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Srinagar Dr M Haseeb Mughal was seen carrying Uhbaan in his arms. The SSP paid tribute to Khan with moist eyes.
Meanwhile, Shah who is on a two-day visit to the Kashmir Valley took stock of the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir ahead of the Amarnath Yatra which schedule to begin from July 1. On Wednesday he met Governor Satya Pal Malik.
