New Delhi, June 10: Amit Malviya, the head of the BJP IT Cell, is facing serious allegations of sexual misconduct made by Shantanu Sinha, a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
The allegations have prompted the Congress party to call for Malviya's immediate removal from his position within the BJP. Congress leaders argue that the seriousness of the accusations necessitates swift action and a thorough investigation.

Who is Shantanu Sinha?
Shantanu Sinha, an active RSS worker, has accused Malviya of exploiting his position to solicit sexual favors. Santanu is brother of West Bengal BJP leader Rahul Sinha. Sinha's allegations were made public in a detailed post, where he claimed that Malviya used his influence to sexually exploit women. What are the Allegations Against Amit Malviya?
In a social media post, Sinha accused Malviya of sexually harassing women while he was staying in West Bengal. Sinha, who has been associated with the RSS for several years, detailed incidents that allegedly took place within the political and organisational framework, suggesting a pattern of abuse of power.
Amit Malviya Responds to Sexual Exploitation Charges
In response to these allegations, Amit Malviya has categorically denied any wrongdoing. He has labeled the accusations as baseless and part of a larger smear campaign against him. Malviya has taken legal action by filing a defamation case against Sinha, seeking to clear his name and demanding a public apology. According to Malviya, the claims are an attempt to tarnish his reputation and destabilize his political standing.
Malviya, through his advocate, sent a legal notice to Shantanu Sinha on June 8 asking to take down the "false and derogatory" post and also tender an unconditional apology.
"The nature of allegations are extremely offensive in as much as, they falsely allege sexual misconduct purportedly committed by my client. The same is fatally injurious to the dignity and reputation of my client, who, by virtue of his professional profile, is a public figure. Such malevolently malicious statements have been deliberately made to tarnish his reputation," the notice read.
