Amit Khare Gets Additional Temporary Charge of Secretary, School Education and Literacy

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet handed over the charge to Khare, a 1985-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Jharkhand-cadre officer, for a tenure of eight days from October 24 to November 1 to cover for the period of absence on leave of Anita Karwal, a 1988 batch Gujarat-cadre IAS.

New Delhi, October 24: Senior IAS official Amit Khare on Saturday took additional charge of Department of School Education and Literacy, a Ministry of Personnel order reveals. The officer is holding the charge on temporary basis.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet handed over the charge to Khare, a 1985-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Jharkhand-cadre officer, for a tenure of eight days from October 24 to November 1 to cover for the period of absence on leave of Anita Karwal, a 1988 batch Gujarat-cadre IAS.

Khare currently holds the charge of Secretary, Department of Higher Education.

The official has served on the post of Information and Broadcasting Secretary before his appointment as Secretary, Department of Higher Education last year after repatriation of Rina Ray, who was the then Secretary in the department of School Education and Literacy of Human Resource Development Ministry.
