Bengaluru, November 29: In a sensational expose of drugs racket doing business in India, the Bengaluru Police on Friday said that Amazon courier bags from Canada were being used for shipping drugs into India. The police also said that an international mafia was involved in the whole racket. Apart from busting the drugs racket, the Bengaluru police also seized huge quantity of drugs. Bhaskar Rao, Police Commissioner, Bengaluru said that drugs were found as to be amphetamine (meth). "We recovered 2.655 kg of drugs, each gram was sold for Rs 6,000. The drugs were shipped by Amazon courier from Canada. Examining how it slipped through customs," said the Commissioner. The Bengaluru City Crime Branch busted the drug mafia on the basis of information given by a parent of a drug addict, reported news agency ANI. The police said that it has arrested a person from Kolkata, identified as Atif Salim. The police said that it recovered chocolate, cola and strwberry laced amphetamine (meth) from his apartment. Further investigations are underway in the case, said reports.
