All India Strike Called by CITU on January 8 to Protest Against Privatisation of Public Sector Units
The Centre of Indian Trade Unions on Saturday announced that they will hold a nationwide strike against privatisation of public sector units on January 8, 2019. They have also stated that the nationwide strike in support of their demand to raise the minimum salary of workers to 18000 per month.

Informing about the latest development, CITU General Secretary Tapan Sen to ANI, "All trade unions except Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) will hold nation wide strike against privatisation of public sector units and demand of minimum wage of Rs 18,000 per month, on January 8, 2020." Earlier on Friday, CITU vice president Y Krishnaiah had sought that the Central government should give salaries to Singareni Collieries Company Limited -- situated at Kothagudem -- workers as per the government order (GO). He had alleged that the company was not giving salaries to contract workers as per the GO. In this regard, he even met the workers at Civil Office of SCCL. Stating more, he said that workers are facing issues as insufficient salaries are provided to them.
