Aligarh, October 6: A shocking incident of murder has come to light from Uttar Pradesh, where a 30-year-old man allegedly killed his friend over INR 100. Police officials said that the accused, identified as Manoj Kumar, killed his friend Ganga Ram after the latter refused to give him money for alcohol. The alleged incident occurred on Wednesday night, October 2, at the Gandhi Park area in Aligarh.
According to a report in The Times of India, the alleged murder occurred over a dispute regarding money for alcohol. Cops said that Kumar killed Ram using a public tap handle in the Gandhi Park area. The dispute began when Kumar asked for money from Ram, who simply refused. Kumar, who was enraged, allegedly struck Ram in the head with the tap's handle, thus causing him severe injuries. Ganga Ram was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died during treatment. After Ram's death, his wife approached the police and lodged a complaint against Kumar, who was subsequently arrested. During the investigation, cops also recovered the weapon used by Kumar to injure Ram.
After his arrest, the accused confessed to killing Ram and told cops that he was desperate for money for alcohol. Meanwhile, the police have booked and arrested Kumar under Section 103 (Murder) of the BNS. They have also launched a probe in connection with the incident. It is also learned that Ram is survived by his wife and children. In a separate incident, a 30-year-old woman from Etah filed a rape case against former Samajwadi Party MLA Rameshwar Singh Yadav and his younger brother Jugendra Singh Yadav. In her complaint, the woman said that the crime took place on January 4, 2015, when she allegedly went to the former MLA's farmhouse in Etah seeking a job.
