Akash Vijayvargiya, BJP MLA Who Thrashed Civic Official With Cricket Bat, Gets Bail

BJP MLA Akash Vijayvargiya, son of BJP General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, who was arrested on Wednesday for thrashed a municipal officer with a cricket bat on Saturday got bail from a special court in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal.

Bhopal, June 29: BJP MLA Akash Vijayvargiya, son of BJP General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, who was arrested on Wednesday for thrashing a municipal officer with a cricket bat on Saturday got bail from a special court in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal. He had been earlier sent to judicial custody till July 7. The district court said that the case falls under the jurisdiction of the special court set up in capital city Bhopal to hear cases against public representatives and transferred the case there. The BJP MLA from Indore-3 was seen assaulting a civic body official in a viral video. The video became instantly viral on social media. After the incident when Akash was asked about the episode, he said, "This is just the beginning, we will end this corruption and goondaism. 'Aavedan, nivedan aur fir dana dan' this is our line of action."

Reacting to the matter, Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath said, "It is really saddening that a BJP leader behaves in such a manner, I congratulate the police for taking action. Law is the same for everyone." Condemning the incident, Indian National Congress spokesperson Neelabh Shukla said that the incident has displayed the real face of Bharatiya Janata Party.
