Mumbai, July 30: The Bombay High Court has given a clean chit to an Air India pilot against whom sexual assault case was registered by a woman pilot last September. According to a Times of India report, Bimal Kumar Roy was a pilot with Air India Express and police had filed a charge sheet against him. But Mumbai High Court in their ruling highlighted that he never had the intention to molest the woman, nor had the knowledge that his actions will lead to it. The woman had alleged that she had gone to resign at Air India office, and she was informed that she needed to visit Roy's chamber. However, the moment she entered, Roy was agitated, he twisted her hand and touched her chest.
Roy, however, informed that the woman out of frustration had placed such an allegation on him. He alleged that when she entered his chamber, she started video recording the incident and threatened to make it viral on social media.
In another incident earlier this year, an Air India pilot levelled charges of sexual harassment against her colleague and commander, who allegedly asked her about her sexual relations with her husband. The pilot was immediately suspended and barred entry into AI offices till the inquiry gets completed.
