New Delhi, December 24: The Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA) has written to Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, asking him to clear pending dues of pilots and commanders of Air India who they claim have not been paid flying allowances and salaries on time in the recent two-three years.
According to an Indian Express report, Puri had earlier said that pilots of Air India were very well looked after and that their salaries were also very good. However, the association in their letter mentioned that Air India pilots were being “paid only half of what other air carriers are offering”.
The ICPA on Monday said that 65 pilots had tendered their resignations and were serving the six month notice period. However, Puri said had he had not heard of any resignations from Air India pilots. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Says Air India and Bharat Petroleum to be Sold by March 2020.
