New Delhi, March 6: An Air India flight suffered cabin decompression soon after taking off from Delhi on Wednesday. Air India's Dreamliner aircraft was flying to Frankfurt when its cabin pressurization system developed a snag. The flight had to return to Delhi. All passengers are safe. The Boeing 787 took off as AI 121 at 1:54 pm from Delhi. Soon after the take off, when the aircraft was at 21,900 feet, the overhead oxygen masks dropped as the aircraft cabin suffered decompression. The aircraft returned to Delhi at around 3.33 PM. Air India Pilots Grounded After Its Flight 'Descended Rapidly & Deviated From Path' at Hong Kong Airport.

A senior Air India official was quoted saying by The Times of India that there were 220 passengers on board the aircraft which landed back in Delhi. He added that the passengers will be sent to Frankfurt now on another plane at 6 AM. Air India said in its statement that, "All passengers are being extended all assistance in Delhi. Air India is committed to maintaining highest standards of passenger comfort and safety."
