Mumbai, October 15: The Air India flight AI031/172 Mumbai-Ahmedabad-London-Newark bound flight was grounded on Monday at Ahmedabad after the aircraft developed a technical snag. According to a tweet by ANI, the flight landed at Ahmedabad at 4:50 AM and developed a technical snag after landing. The flight has been grounded at Ahmedabad. Reports inform that there were 130 passengers on board,  two infants and 10 wheelchair passengers. The departure of the aircraft that is en route to London is expected at around 6.35 AM on Tuesday. Air India Express Flight Hits ATC Compound Wall at Trichy Airport, Close Shave For 136 Passengers.

Meanwhile, the London bound passengers and Newark bound passengers will be connected through Delhi and Mumbai respectively today. According to a tweet by ANI, 110 passengers were accommodated in local hotels in Ahmedabad while 20 passengers preferred to go back to their residences.

In a separate incident on Monday, a total of 115 passengers were stranded in Trichy for more than 24 hours after a Singapore-bound Air India Express plane developed a technical snag. According to a TOI report, the Air India Express flight AXB 682 which arrived in Trichy from Singapore at 3 PM was to depart at 4.10 PM.

In another incident, a 53-year-old air hostess suffered serious injuries after falling off an Air India aircraft which was getting ready for departure for New Delhi from the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. According to a PTI report, the incident happened on Air India flight AI 864 operating on Mumbai-Delhi route, according to the airline source.
