Mumbai, August 4: Heavy rains continued to disrupt normal life in Mumbai for the second consecutive day. Transport services connecting Mumbai to its suburbs, Thane, Kalyan, Karjat, Belapur, Vasai and Navi Mumbai were hugely affected due to waterlogging following torrential rainfall in the city. Local train services on all four lines -central, harbour, trans harbour and western - were disrupted. Services between CSTM to Thane, Kalyan, Kasara, Badlapur, Ambernath, Vashi and Panvel were suspended as heavy downpour flooded railway tracks.

In a separate incident, a 22-year-old delivery boy of a hotel was stabbed to death in Mumbai’s Vikhroli late on Saturday. According to the police, two men stabbed the delivery boy with a sharp weapon after an argument with him. The delivery boy was attacked when he was returning after delivering food at a place. A case has been registered and efforts were underway to nab the accused.

At least 20 people were killed and 26 others wounded in a shooting at an El Paso shopping center in Texas on Sunday. According to an AFP report, investigating authorities said "hate crime among the possibilities" behind the shooting. The suspect is in custody. The White House, in a statement, said President Donald Trump is tracking the developments in El Panso.
