New Delhi, September 12: Air India Captain (Director-Operations) Amitabh Singh will be put off-roster during the investigation in an incident wherein he operated AI-302 Delhi-Sydney on Sept 7 on low fuel and has failed to provide a reason for it before Director General Of Civil Aviation official (DGCA). As part of the regulations, a pilot is required to compulsorily report certain incidents, including low fuel situation during a flight, to the DGCA. Singh had failed to file the mandatory report on the low fuel situation to the DGCA, though he informed the airline. The incident came under the scanner of both Indian and Australian aviation regulators.

Even though Singh had filed a voluntary report about the incident with the airline, but since he didn't report to the DGCA within the stipulated 24 hours, the airline will put him off the roster during the investigation in the case.
