Ahmedabad, November 13: A shocking incident of suicide has come to light from Gujarat, where a 37-year-old woman from Pune allegedly ended her life in Ahmedabad after she was denied medical treatment for her tumour by her husband. Police officials said that the incident occurred last Friday, November 8, in the Ghatlodia area of Ahmedabad. It is also learned that the deceased woman was battling a rare tumour above her left eye.
The incident came to light after the deceased woman's father lodged a complaint with the police against his son-in-law, reports TOI. On November 8, at around 2.53 pm, the deceased woman messaged her mother and said that she took a large number of sedatives and even left a suicide note under the pillow. When her parents called her, her phone was switched off. Cops Find Woman Dead at Home in Ghatlodia
They immediately alerted the Ghatlodia police, who quickly reached the woman's house only to find her dead. In his complaint, the deceased's father said that his daughter was abandoned by her first husband in 2022 due to her medical condition. The complainant also said that his daughter married a man from Pune in 2012, and the two had a son. In 2019, the complainant's daughter was diagnosed with a tumour above her left eye.
Woman Legally Separates from First Husband, Marries Again
Post which, she underwent surgery for the same. The FIR stated that the woman and her son came and lived with the complainant after the surgery. The complainant also claimed that his daughter's husband sent a message stating that he did not his wife or son back. Following this, the woman legally separated from her husband in 2021. Husband Forced His Wife to Abort Pregnancy, Claims Complaint
Three years after her divorce, the woman remarried a man from Rajasthan who was settled in Ghatlodia. The complainant said that the man assured them that he would get their daughter treated for the tumour. "However, soon after their marriage, he began harassing her over petty domestic issue. He never took her to a doctor.," he added. The complainant also claimed that the man forced his daughter to abort her pregnancy in June.
