Ahmedabad, July 5: In a shocking incident, a woman and her brother-in-law have been arrested from Ahmedabad rural on Sunday for allegedly killing her minor son in 2018 after he came to know about their affair. The accused, identified as Josna Patel and Ramesh Patel, reportedly strangulated the eight-year-old boy to death, brunt his body and buried it in a farmland, fearing that he might reveal the truth about the relationship in front of his father. According to report, in September 2018 the deceased had gone out to buy some sweets but never returned. Following which his family filed a kidnapping report and an investigation was launched." "Hardik (the deceased) came to know about their affair and fearing that the child would disclose their relationship to his father Jagdish Patel, his family and other villagers, the accused brought the child to a remote farmland in Jalampura village on September 28 2018, killed him by strangulation, burnt the body and buried it," according to a statement by Ahmedabad rural police, as reported by India Today.

"A few days later, Ramesh again went to the farmland and dug up the remains of the body and threw them in a sewage line in the village to destroy evidence," it added. As per report, both the accused have been arrested and a case have been filed against them under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code as well as for destruction of evidence.
