Lucknow, June 9: A shocking incident of kidnapping and murder has come to light from Uttar Pradesh, where a 24-year-old man was allegedly abducted and killed for Rs 10 lakh ransom. The alleged incident occurred in the Malpura police station in Uttar Pradesh's Agra. Police officials said that the accused killed the victim after his family failed to pay the Rs 10 lakh ransom they demanded.
According to a report in the Times of India, the deceased man has been identified as Sushil Kumar, a resident of Nagle Hatti village. While the cops managed to arrest the accused, they are yet to find the victim's body. The police arrested three suspects, including the main accused, Rahul Joshi. During questioning, the suspects revealed details of the alleged kidnapping and murder. This prompted the cops to launch a search for the victim's body. Cops said that the incident occurred on Sunday, June 2, when the victim received a call and was asked to come to Nagla Revati village. Soon after he left his home, Sushil's family lost contact with him.
On the same day, Bhuri Devi, Sushil's mother, received a call from an unknown number. The caller informed Devi about her son being kidnapped and demanded Rs 10 lakh as ransom for his release. After the call, the kidnappers' phone was switched off. Soon, the family approached the police, but cops kept Devi waiting, citing ongoing investigations. In her complaint, Bhuri Devi said that her son did not have any enmity with anyone. She also questioned cops' misleading actions and approach towards the case. Angered by the police's negligence in the case, the villagers surrounded the Malpura police station as women protested till Thursday night. Meanwhile, Sonam Kumar, DCP, said that the accused have confessed to killing Sushil.
