Agra, May 30: A farmer was arrested on Tuesday night, May 28, in Agra following a shocking incident where he allegedly killed a four-year-old girl in Humayunpur. The farmer purportedly attacked the child with a brick, accusing her of "plucking muskmelons" from his field. As per reports, the accused fled the scene soon after, leaving the girl bleeding on the field's ridge. Subsequently, the girl's father filed a complaint with the police, leading to the accused arrest.

As per a report by the Times of India, the incident unfolded when the victim, identified as Khushboo, followed her father, Subhash Verma, who had gone to purchase melons from the farm, unaware that his daughter was following him. Upon noticing her absence, they initiated a search for the victim. It was then that they discovered the victim lying in a pool of her own blood with severe head injuries, with a brick nearby. Subsequently, they rushed her to a nearby hospital in an attempt to save her. Soon after, Verma, Khushboo's father, filed a complaint with the police against the absconding accused, identified as 40-year-old Hariom Sharma, for the murder of his daughter, as reported by the Indian Express. As per the report, Verma, in his complaint, stated that the accused suspected the girl of muskmelon theft when he saw her plucking one from his field. Enraged, Sharma purportedly struck the girl with a brick multiple times on her head and abandoned her before fleeing the scene later on.  Agra Shocker: Semi-Naked Dead Body Of Woman Found Inside Mosque, Probe Launched (Watch Video).

The police initiated action following a complaint filed by the girl's father, Subhash Kumar. Based on the complaint, the police launched an investigation to gather evidence for the prosecution, and the accused was arrested later that night.
