Lucknow, October 15: A shocking incident of rape has come to light from Uttar Pradesh, where a 24-year-old woman from Ghaziabad was allegedly raped and held captive for three days in Agra. The victim had arrived in Agra on October 8 for a dance programme but was allegedly raped and held captive after being drugged. Police officials said that the rape survivor was raped for three days at a flat in the Tajganj area.

Event Company Manager and His Wife Arrested

After the incident came to light, the police arrested an event company manager and his wife in connection with it. The arrested accused have been identified as Vinay Gupta and his wife Meera, reports The Times of India. Victim Was Invited to Agra for Dance Programme

In her complaint, the victim said that she worked as a dancer at a club in Ghaziabad. She told cops that she came to Agra on October 8 after receiving an invitation from Gupta. The complaint claimed that Gupta had contacted her manager and invited her to a dance programme in Agra. When she arrived in the city, the accused took to his flat where his wife was also present.

The rape survivor also stated that Meera offered her tea which was allegedly laced with an intoxicant. After having the tea, the complaint fell unconscious. When she regained consciousness, she learned that she was locked in a room and was sexually assaulted by Gupta. During the preliminary investigation, cops also found that Gupta, who originally hails from Noori Darwaza, was involved in running a prostitution racket from his flat. They also learned that as the woman had refused to be part of Gupta's illicit activities, he confined her in the flat, where he repeatedly violated her for three days. Meanwhile, the police are investigating the case to find out if any more people are involved in the matter.
