Lucknow, August 22: After the incident of ragging where nearly 150 medical students were forced to shave their heads and salute their seniors in a college in Etawah district came forward, the VC of UP University of Medical Sciences, Dr Raj Kumar has denied any ragging allegations. According to an ANI tweet, Dr Kumar said, "A preliminary-enquiry report states that the students have clearly denied any ragging incident involving them. The report states that the information regarding the ragging incident is baseless. It has signatures of all the students."

On Wednesday, reports came out that the first-year MBBS students of Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences in Saifai were allegedly forced to tonsure their heads by their seniors and bow in front of them as a mark of respect. The incident sparked outrage after its video went viral on social media.
On Wednesday, Dr Raj assured that cognizance will be taken into the incident and strong action initiated against those involved.
