Bengaluru, February 18: In a big boost to Make-in-India programme, Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missile (BVAAM) will be showcased during the Aero India show which is scheduled to take place from February 20 in Bengaluru. The show will conclude on February 24. Astra missile is the first air to air missile developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Soon this missile will be inducted into the Indian Air Force (IAF).

Meanwhile, on February 13, three Rafale fighter jets at the Bengaluru’s Yelahanka Air Force Station to participate in the Aero Show. Two of the fighters will be used for flying exercises and the third for static display. The Rafale jets landed in Bengaluru are not the ones which are manufactured for the IAF.

Notably, for the first time, all these fighter jets will be flown by ace Indian Air Force fighter pilots during the 12th edition of Asia's premier air show in Bengaluru, and one of the pilots would be Deputy Chief Air Chief Marshal Vivek Choudhari. Altogether 57 fighter aircraft from different countries would fly during the air show in Bengaluru.
