Adani Ports Issues High Alert After Inputs of Entry by Pakistani Commandos Through Harami Nala Creek, Sea Vigil Enhanced Along Gujarat Coast
Adani Ports and Logistics has issued a high alert following intelligence inputs that Pakistan-trained commandos have entered Gulf of Kutch through Harami Naala Creek. The suspected commandos are believed to be trained in “underwater attacks”.
Ahmedabad, August 29: Adani Ports and Logistics has issued a high alert following intelligence inputs that Pakistan-trained commandos have entered Gulf of Kutch through Harami Naala Creek. According to the advisory issued by Adani Ports, the suspected commandos are believed to be trained in “underwater attacks”. “All shopping agents and stakeholders are directed to inform their vessels accordingly and report any suspicious activity to the marine control station and port operation centre immediately. Please note that Mundra Port is maintaining security level 1. Security measures have also been enhanced at the shore side of the port,” stated an advisory issued by the Adani Port in Mundra. In a similar advisory, the Deendayal Port Trust in Kandla directed shipping agents to inform their vessels and maintain vigil. Sipping agents have been ordered to report any suspicious activity to the Coast Guard, marine police stations or port control rooms. On August 24, the Border Security Force (BSF) found two Pakistani fishing boats abandoned in the 'Harami Nala' creek area along the Indo-Pak border near Kutch district of Gujarat.
A thorough search operation was launched after two single-engine fitted Pakistani boats were found abandoned in the Harami Nala, but nothing suspicious was recovered from the area. Harami Nala is a sluggish and shallow water channel in the Sir Creek area from where the BSF reports cases of seizure of Pakistani fishermen or abandoned boats.
Security forces are in a state of high alert at all ports on the Gujarat coastline following the intelligence inputs. According to news agency ANI, security has been enhanced at all ports in Gujarat following inputs that Pakistani commandos are likely to infiltrate into Indian territory through sea route "to create a communal disturbance or terrorist attack".
